Ingredients:

For the Fried Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Wraps:

  • 2 large tortillas or flatbreads
  • 4 slices of your favorite cheese (e.g., cheddar, Swiss, or American)
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or your preferred sauce (e.g., ranch, honey mustard, or barbecue sauce)
  • Sliced pickles (optional)
  • Sliced red onions (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare the Fried Chicken:

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano. This will be your breading mixture.

  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat. You'll need enough oil to submerge the chicken breasts.

  4. While the oil is heating, dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off, and then coat them in the seasoned flour mixture. Make sure the chicken is evenly coated with the breading.

  5. Carefully place the breaded chicken breasts into the hot oil and fry for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

  6. Once cooked, remove the fried chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Allow it to rest for a few minutes, then slice the chicken into strips.

Assemble the Wraps:

  1. Lay out the tortillas or flatbreads on a clean surface.

  2. Spread a generous dollop of mayonnaise or your preferred sauce in the center of each tortilla.

  3. Place 2 slices of cheese on each tortilla, followed by the sliced tomatoes.

  4. Add the fried chicken strips, shredded lettuce, pickles, and sliced red onions (if using).

  5. Carefully fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it up tightly from the bottom to create a wrap.

  6. Cut each wrap in half diagonally for easy serving.

  7. Serve your Fried Chicken Wraps with Cheese and Tomatoes immediately, or wrap them in parchment paper or foil for a picnic or on-the-go meal.

  8. Enjoy your crispy and flavorful chicken wraps with the perfect combination of cheese, tomatoes, and your favorite toppings.

Feel free to customize your wraps with additional ingredients like bacon, avocado, or different sauces to suit your taste. These wraps make for a satisfying meal, whether for lunch, dinner, or a quick and delicious snack.
