Ingredients:

For the Steak:

  • 2 New York strip steaks (8-10 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Spicy Ramen:

  • 4 packs of ramen noodles (discard the seasoning packets)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1-2 tablespoons red pepper flakes (adjust to your preferred spice level)
  • 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cups baby spinach or bok choy, chopped
  • 2 soft-boiled eggs, halved (optional)
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions:

Marinate and Cook the Steak:

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Place the New York strip steaks in the marinade and coat them evenly. Allow them to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for maximum flavor.

  3. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over high heat. Grill the steaks to your desired level of doneness, typically 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let the steaks rest for a few minutes before slicing them thinly.

Prepare the Spicy Ramen:

  1. Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set them aside.

  2. In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Sauté for a couple of minutes until fragrant and the onion turns translucent.

  3. Add the red pepper flakes (adjust to your preferred spice level) and sauté for an additional minute.

  4. Pour in the beef or vegetable broth, soy sauce, miso paste, and rice vinegar. Stir well to combine, then bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes to develop the flavors.

  5. Add the cooked ramen noodles to the pot and stir to combine. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  6. Just before serving, stir in the chopped baby spinach or bok choy. Allow the greens to wilt in the hot broth.

  7. Divide the spicy ramen into bowls. Top with the sliced grilled steak, halved soft-boiled eggs (if using), sliced green onions, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

  8. Serve your Spicy Steak Ramen hot and enjoy the delightful combination of flavors and textures.

This Spicy Steak Ramen is a perfect meal for spice lovers and ramen enthusiasts. The tender steak and fiery broth come together for a memorable culinary experience. Bon appétit! 🍜🥩🌶️
